WHAT
​HHA is looking for volunteer dancers with training in classical ballet as well as one or more other styles of dance such as contemporary ballet, modern, jazz, or tap.
If you have a passion for dance performance and enjoy community service geared toward seniors in our community, this could be the group for you. The group rehearses twice weekly:

Mondays, 1:15 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the Lincolnia Senior Center

Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Center for Ballet Arts, Fairfax
Quarterly membership dues help cover choreographer stipends, rehearsal space rental, costumes, insurance, venue fees, etc.

Ballet technique will be highly regarded, as well as the taking of on-going dance classes. Performances take place at numerous elder care facilities, retirement communities, Capital One Hall, and at local festivals throughout the DMV region. An average of 8 to 10 performance are given during a year. Performances are usually scheduled on Thursdays during the day.

Helping Hearts Through the Arts (HHA) inspires lifelong movement and fosters a love of the arts through dance programs featuring innovative, uplifting choreography, live musical performances, and movement activities. HHA is committed to reaching a variety of audiences and changing perspectives on dance and aging. The more than 10 performances annually are geared toward reaching senior communities throughout the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.
